Recover Data From An Acer Laptop

ACER ASPIRE 5100

I have been using an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop for a long time now, and have recently saved a lot of important photographs and documents to the hard drive on the laptop. There is a big problem now, then, because I have suddenly discovered that the screen has a number of vertical coloured lines across it, and I am not able to see the boot menu or Windows OS behind it. This is a serious problem for me because I thought I would be able to get to the hard drive any time I liked. It seems as though the computer, or the graphics card in it, has died, and there is no visibility at all. I know that the computer is running still, because I can hear it, and I also know that the Windows OS appears, because I can hear the sound of it starting up. This means that my data might be somewhere on there still, but I cannot see it or access it.

ACER ASPIRE 5315

I am hoping that someone can help me with a serious problem that I am having. I have an Acer Aspire 5315 which suddenly won’t turn on and won’t even try and start. I cannot even see the charge light which usually comes on over the battery to show that the laptop is plugged in. I know that the power supply is working, because I use it with another laptop that has the same socket. However, when I plug it into the Acer, there are no lights on at all. I can sometimes get it to start coming on by keeping my finger on the power button for about 5 minutes. However, if I can get it to start up, it will almost always fail straight away, and stop working again. I have not even got it to the Acer logo screen yet, and that is one of the first steps in the boot. I don’t know what I can do to get the system working again, and I need the data recovered from the laptop hard drive.
