Recover Data From Compaq Desktop PCs

I have a Compaq Presario CQ5320, which has not really worked well since I bought it in 2010. The first thing that it did was damage the monitor that I had been using. I had to purchase a new one (checked with other computer). I then used it with success for a few weeks, and then there was a problem with a black screen appearing where Windows was loading. What would happen was that I was working on the computer, and all of a sudden the machine would just fade to black, without any warning. It would not recover from this, and needed to be completely rebooted. Then the screen would go black whenever I tried to use the graphics drive at all. Watching shows? Black Screen. Playing games? Black screen. When I try to reboot from this screen, I get a Blue Screen of death. I ran a diagnostics, but suddenly, there was another Blue Screen of death. The operating system had completely crashed.

I have a problem with a Compaq Presario SR5710. What happened was that I had to leave the room for a few minutes to answer a phone call. When I returned (the call took longer than I thought), the machine had gone into sleep mode. I tried clicking on the mouse, pressing the power switch briefly, and even pressing the sleep button (I may have pressed this several times in various stages of anger), but there was nothing that I could do to get the computer up from sleep mode.
