Retrieve Data From A Lenovo Desktop PC

LENOVO IDEACENTRE K210:

I have a Lenovo IdeaCentre K210 which is not able to read games DVDs in the CD-Rom drive. This was not a problem until the inability to read started affecting games which are already loaded onto my computer through Steam. I have a lot of files connected to these games, since I play them regularly and often save data to the folders which I then use the next time I play the game. Sometimes it is just saved play, but sometimes it is downloaded items that I can use in the game while I am playing. I don’ want to lose any of the data, since I think it is quite important.

LENOVO IDEACENTRE K210:

I wanted to make a partition in the hard drive of my Lenovo IdeaCentre K210. I started by changing the partition of my C drive to a memory of only 48GB, using the default. This allowed me a slightly smaller memory for the other drive. I then partitioned the drive as planned, so now there were two drives showing in drive manager. What has happened is that the files on the C drive are taking up around 28Gb of space, but the system reports that 40gb is in use, and when I look on the other partition, the computer is reporting exactly the same amount of files, and the same amount of GB in use. I think that I need to do a recovery on the whole system, as clearly the partition has not gone according to plan, but I don’t want to lose the data and files which are on the c drive. I can’t afford to lose some of the data, as it is relevant to my college course, and I don’t have a backup.
