The towns · the bench

Data recovery near Nottingham. Sixteen towns, one bench, and the parcel does the travelling.

Post brings in almost all of it, from Nottingham and well beyond. Tracked and insured, media arrives at the intake lab, which makes the courier network the boundary here rather than any line on a map. Most parcels come out of Nottinghamshire, with Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire close behind; after the box is open, none of that counts for anything.

Your town missing from that list changes nothing at all. Three steps cover every postcode: a phone call or the form, then a tracked and insured journey, then a bench on the day it arrives. Sixteen towns below have a page each.

Each town near Nottingham has its own page.

Every one of them sets out the hardware that genuinely turns up from that town, the order a job runs in, and the questions people there tend to ask. One bench sits at the end of all sixteen, and the diagnosis is free from every one of them.

Beyond the sixteen

West of the Peak and the Erewash the parcel is already heading for the laboratory itself, Manchester Data Recovery. Coventry, the Black Country and the rest of the West Midlands are covered by our sister site Birmingham Data Recovery, and Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster by Sheffield Data Recovery. Every one of them belongs to Easy Data Recovery Ltd and works on the same terms as this site.

The four points people raise.

No shop front anywherePosted or carried in, media is booked in as it arrives and goes in front of an engineer the same day. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting for somebody to become free.
The same standard, wherever it came fromWhat a box posted from Grantham gets is what a box carried in gets: a diagnosis nobody charges for, one price set down in writing, and the returned media checked over before the parcel is sealed.
Business kit, whatever the addressOne packing rule serves a trade counter on Teal Park at Lincoln and an office on LUSEP at Loughborough alike. Server and RAID disks come bare; a NAS comes assembled; anything held as evidence is logged as evidence from booking-in onwards. Where the job will not wait, say so while you are on the phone and priority is agreed before the box leaves you.
Nothing leaves this labBooking in gives your device a case number, and it keeps that number until it is back with you. Nothing is subcontracted and nothing leaves for another lab — diagnosis, imaging and recovery all happen here — and whoever worked on it is the person who tells you what came off.

What people ask before anything else.

Does my postcode fall inside your area?

It does. Anywhere a tracked courier goes, we can work for you. NG accounts for most of what arrives; DE, LE, LN, S80 and PE send a steady share between them; and plenty comes from well beyond any of those. Wherever the box started, the postage home is ours.

Does the journey put it at risk?

Packing decides that, not mileage. A NAS goes whole, still assembled, and an external keeps its own enclosure. Arrays are the other case entirely: strip a server or a RAID set down to bare disks, and ink on each one the bay number it occupied. A disk pulled from a tower, a laptop or a recorder travels the same way. Every face of the box wants padding, and the parcel wants tracking and insurance.

Will somebody collect it from me?

No van, and no collection round. Waiting in for a driver is slower than a tracked parcel, and there is more to go wrong with it. Anybody who would sooner hand the thing over in person can do that at the intake lab on a weekday. Servers, large arrays and anything being kept as evidence are different: ring first, and we settle between us how it ought to travel.

I am nowhere near Nottingham — should I use somebody local?

Choose the bench rather than the postcode. Nothing is collected from anybody, so a parcel handed in three streets away sits in the same queue as one posted from the far end of the country; each is logged and seen on the day it turns up, and each comes back carrying a fixed price in writing. £300 + VAT buys a single drive. RAID sets, NAS boxes and servers begin at £500 + VAT. Most jobs, where the files never do come back, are not charged for at all.

It always starts the same way.

Describe what it is doing, either on the phone or through the form. Nothing then travels but the parcel, and its journey home is on our bill.
