What people ask before anything else.
Does my postcode fall inside your area?
Yes. As long as a tracked courier can reach you, we can work for you. NG accounts for most of what arrives; DE, LE, LN, S80 and PE send a steady share between them; and plenty comes from much further away than these. Wherever your package started, the postage home is paid by us.
Does the journey put it at risk?
Packing decides this rather than distance. A single external hard drive comes whole, in its own enclosure, with its cable and power supply. A NAS comes as its disks, each labelled for its bay, if they can be taken out; if not, send the whole NAS. Servers and RAID sets are handled differently: strip them down to bare disks and mark each disk in ink with its bay number. A disk pulled from a tower, a laptop or a recorder travels the same way. Storage with soldered components is not taken on, so if you're not sure which kind you have, ring us first. Every side of the box needs padding, and the parcel must be tracked and insured.
Will somebody collect it from me?
There is no van and no collection round. Waiting in for a driver takes longer than using a tracked parcel, and there are more things that can go wrong. Anyone who would rather hand it over in person can do so at the intake lab, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, with no appointment needed. Servers, large arrays and anything being kept as evidence are different: ring us first and we will agree between us how it should travel.
I am nowhere near Nottingham — should I use somebody local?
Choose the bench rather than the postcode. Nothing is collected from anyone, so a parcel posted three streets away sits in the same queue as one sent from the far end of the country; every parcel is logged and seen on the day it arrives, and each comes back with a fixed price in writing. £300 + VAT for a single drive. RAID sets, NAS boxes and servers start at £500 + VAT. In most cases you only pay if we recover your data.
