Behind them are farm offices across the Trent valley and the Vale of Belvoir keeping herd, field and stewardship records on one outbuilding PC, and conveyancers working a district that straddles four councils' boundaries. All three: NG22, NG23 and NG24. That is Newark-on-Trent and Balderton, out through Bilsthorpe, Tuxford, East Markham and Collingham, and down to Long Bennington and Flintham. NG23 spills over into Lincolnshire on its eastern side, and that alters nothing at all here. Since the drive does the travelling, a farm lane and a unit on an industrial estate stand the same distance from a bench. Something posted midweek generally reaches an engineer next morning.

Two things must not happen: a rebuild, and a reinstall laid over the top. Cut the power first. Write the bay number onto each disk before it leaves the chassis, put in the member that failed first, and post bare drives with the case left behind. A NAS box is the exception and travels exactly as it stands.
